Trucker's Freedom Convoy

Born from Road Grit. Forged with Pride.

Commemorating the Largest Protest in Canadian History

This country rolls because you do.

From frozen highways to endless prairie roads, across mountain passes and through sleepless nights — you carried Canada on your back. You didn’t ask for praise. You just did your job, with grit in your soul and pride in your chest.

This tribute is for you — the men and women behind the wheel who kept the shelves stocked, the lines moving, and the spirit of the nation alive when it mattered most.

You are more than drivers. You are the heartbeat of this country.

And now, your story will be struck in silver.

At Beaverworks, we believe that coinage is more than metal — it is memory cast in permanence. As artists refining our minting expertise, we are compelled to recognize the moments that define our national story. Among them, none stand taller in recent memory than the largest protest in Canadian history — a powerful and unprecedented expression of democratic voice.

In honour of this monumental event, we have developed a commemorative coin that captures both the spirit and gravity of that time. This is not a political statement, but a historical one. We aim to mark the courage, the conviction, and the unity of Canadians who stood together in the streets, expressing what they believed in peacefully and powerfully.

This piece will stand not only as a collector’s item but as a testament: that we do not forget the moments that moved us — moments that shaped our national identity and tested our democratic values.

My cousin—the very person who gave me the space to build our mint in his farm garage—approached me with a special request: to create a silver coin commemorating the 2022 Canadian Truckers Freedom Convoy. As a Class 3 licensed trucker myself, with firsthand experience hauling in Alberta’s oilfields, I knew immediately what my answer would be: “Done.”

It’s safe to say I might be the only Class 3 trucker in the world who also mints coins—possibly the only trucker minting coins, period. That might just be another first for us. 🙂

When he asked me to make this coin, I thought to myself—how could I not?

This is the man who made Beaverworks Mint possible by letting me build it inside his farm garage, deferring all rent until I could get striking. Whenever he asks for anything, I drop everything and make it happen—no hesitation. That’s the level of love and respect I have for him. Whatever he needs, he gets. End of story.

Beaverworks Mint is proud to be the only mint operating in Western Canada, earning a reputation for honouring those who serve—whether in uniform or on the road.

While we continue to recognize the Canadian Forces, we also believe it’s time to shine a light on a group too often overlooked: the working-class truckers who keep this country moving. Alone for countless hours, crossing vast distances through harsh weather and quiet highways, these men and women form the backbone of Canada’s economy—and, in many ways, its freedom.

In 2022, that spirit of independence took form in the Freedom Convoy. When the line between governance and overreach was crossed, it was the truckers who stood up and inspired a nation. Their message of unity and hope ignited Canadians across the country, with bridges and highways lined with people waving flags and cheering them on.

When they reached Ottawa—not with aggression, but with bouncy castles, hot tubs, food for the homeless, and unwavering love for this country—they reminded us what peaceful civil expression looks like. Their presence brought people together. It quieted the noise. And above all, it carried a message of freedom, compassion, and love for Canada.

That same spirit is what drives this coin. A tribute not just to an event, but to the heart of what keeps Canada free.

Several iterations of the original sculpture were made and engraved, many of which caused unforeseen conflicts with the laser engraver. After numerous failed attempts and refinements, we finally achieved a sculpt that engraved cleanly without error. What you see here is the result of that persistence—the fine detail and precision that went into solving a deceptively complex technical challenge.

Within the sculpt lies a deep understanding of how silver behaves under extreme compression. The areas left without mesh were intentionally designed to reveal polished silver in the final strike—creating contrast and depth through negative space. I hope that the owner of the truck, and all Canadians who connected with the core sentiment of that movement, can feel the love, intention, and respect that went into every aspect of this work.

Keep on trucking Canada!
